PMS Confession

I hate the Kroger guy’s voice.  When I see a Kroger ad come on TV, I absolutely must mute it.  His creepy, clown sounding voice just makes every single hair stand on end.  In my head I’m screaming “Shut the hell up!  Just shut up!  Stop talking like that!”.   It’s like thinking about someone biting on tin foil, I cringe and get goose bumps and want the image to just go away.   I try to avoid Kroger just because of that voice.

I have new baby shrimp, so far about 10 of them.  They are about 1mm in size and are hard to see, but I did get a sort of decent picture of two.  The first one on a marimo ball, the second one in java moss.

Snow Excited!

We don’t get much snow ’round these parts, so when we do, the world stops.  At least to the kids anyway.  School was cancelled and they were more then excited to be able to play in the 1/2 inch of snow in the back yard.  And of course as a parent, I needed to go take pictures of the Big Event.

I’m happy to report that my world traveling iPod arrived in Alaska from China, then went to Indiana, where it cleared customs.  Right now it’s somewhere between Indianapolis and Nashville.

Strange iPod Economics

Apple had a sale on the iPod Shuffle, free shipping and free engraving, so I figured why not.   I’ve put off buying an ipod because they are so expensive, but for $45 I decided to go for it.  I wish they had orange, but they didn’t, so I picked the green one.

I figured they would just engrave it and send it.  Which they are doing, however, I didn’t think it would be engraved then FedEx’d to me from China!  It left Suzhou on the 24th, and is in Shanghai now.  It’s due at my house on the 29th.

It just seems strange to me that it’s cheaper to have personalized engraving and FedEx shipping from China then it would to have it done here in the US.  Transportation around China, airplane fuel from China to the US, then transport to my house.   That little quarter size iPod will be well travelled.
