I volunteered at my daughters school for Hands on Nashville day, which is a day when thousands of people help out at a public school by painting, landscaping or whatever needs to be done. At my daughters school we painted the playground equipment, the exterior doors, a few gates and benches. Other people mulched and added some plants. About 30 people were there, most from an Asian American club from MTSU. (I think it was MTSU). They were a cool group of people, and I wish I was 20 years younger because they would be a lot of fun to hang out and do stuff with.
I got the red paint, so I had to paint the equipment that used to be red red again. It only took us 3 1/2 hours to do everything, and it looked great.

Nashville has been out of gas since last weekend. At first they blamed the hurricane and a pipe that brings gas into Nashville. They said that the supply was disrupted and would be back to normal soon. Ok, that’s fine. But “soon” never happened and the days went by and nothing changed. Drivers were getting worried because now their tanks are running low, they need to get to work and school, and you can’t find a station with gas. And the days went by and still nothing changed.
Now our tanks are really low, and so if you do find a station with gas, the lines are long. But what are you to do? You need gas so you have to wait in line. This is not “panic buying” as they want you to believe. This is “I need gas, this is the only station that has it so I have to sit in a line with everyone else for 45 minutes” buying.
They are trying to place the blame on the drivers, so I’m wondering who really is to blame. I saw on the news this morning that 3 barges with millions of gallons of fuel arrived on Friday, and things should be back to normal by Monday or Tuesday. That still doesn’t help those who still can’t find gas this weekend.
