For my birthday, my inlaws gave me a TomTom GPS. I’ve basically been a shut in since I’ve had kids because my memory has gone to crap. Something about having kids turns off part of your brain, I swear it does. I’ve lived here 9 years and I still can’t tell you how to get to my house from anywhere. I can’t remember names of roads. I just tell people “You know where the Hermitage is? I live near there”.
So when I got the TomTom, I was thrilled. And it has gone beyond my expectations. I still can’t tell you how to get to my house, but I taken my kids to Warner Parks Nature Center for a “good bye to hummingbirds” class, taken my son to play at Charlie Daniel’s Park, and just today my son and I went to storytime at Long Hunter State Park to learn about owls.
After storytime, we went for a walk on one of the trails. On the way home, my son said “mama, I have spiders on me”. I was driving so I couldn’t stop, but he handed me his socks and there were tiny little ticks all over them. I think I got them all off of him, and me. We took a shower when we got home, and I had to take a bar of soap and get them off of him. They are so little! I’m worried about how to get the carseat free of them. How long would they live in a car and how would I clean the car of them? Nasty!
