Early Morning Surprise

I woke up around 5am, and on the way into the kitchen to get the coffee started I peeked into the tank to see how everyone was and I found this:

How beautiful!  One of my Mystery Snails finally laid a clutch of eggs.  You can even see the next little egg on it’s way up.  The snails are constantly doing “snail love” (as my 7 year old calls it) but this is the first clutch we’ve had.  I put the top on the tank to raise the humidity.  I guess now is a good time to study the Hatching Eggs sticky at Aquariacentral.com .  :)

Update:  This is what it looked like after she was done

Shrimp Tank Update

The cherry shrimp tank is coming along nicely.  I’ve seen a few babies around, and there are several berried females.  I have 48w of lighting over the 10 gallon tank, and the plants have taken off.

Pregnant Shrimp

Ok, I guess “berried” is the correct term, but either way, I’m happy to see so many of my cherry shrimp pregnant.
