Someone stole my Obama sign

Someone came right up to my front steps last night and took my sign .  I didn’t even have it by the road.  Yet the McCain signs are still up in other neighbors yards.  Jerks.  Am I supposed to report it to the police or something?  I feel silly reporting this to the police when there is real crime going on, but if they happen to catch someone with a bunch of signs maybe reporting it could help, or something.

No news is good news?

I’m still around, haven’t been in the mood to write much lately.  My car started sputtering and lurching and stalling when you idle, on the day we got new tires and brakes put on it, so now I can’t drive it.  The shop said they don’t know what’s wrong with it and to take it to a Ford dealership.  They “think” it might be the idle control valve, and that it is a $1000 part.  !!!!  I know they had something to do with it, I mean how can it be just perfectly fine until you turn it on the first time after you get the car back from the shop?  Of course there is no way to prove it.  So now my car sits in the garage, and I’m frustrated and pissed off that I can’t go anywhere yet again.

In better news, my red clawed shrimp finally had her babies after a very long gestation.  She had been pregnant since August!  They are very tiny, not much bigger then sand and transparent, so they are hard for me to get a picture of.  They have been molting because I see a lot of exoskeletons in the tank.

I also have a marble crayfish on the way.  Marble crayfish are interesting because they are self cloning.  There are no males of the species and their babies are genetically identical.

I found a baby Anentome Helena aka Assassin Snail in the tank today, too.  This is my first baby born from 4 that I imported a few months.  I’m very excited about this!  I hope I see more in there soon.

Hands On Nashville day

I volunteered at my daughters school for Hands on Nashville day, which is a day when thousands of people help out at a public school by painting, landscaping or whatever needs to be done.  At my daughters school we painted the playground equipment, the exterior doors, a few gates and benches.  Other people mulched and added some plants.  About 30 people were there, most from an Asian American club from MTSU.  (I think it was MTSU).  They were a cool group of people, and I wish I was 20 years younger because they would be a lot of fun to hang out and do stuff with.

I got the red paint, so I had to paint the equipment that used to be red red again.  It only took us 3 1/2 hours to do everything, and it looked great.
